This September is Hunger Action Month, a nationwide movement aimed at encouraging local action to end hunger.

1 in 8.  That’s the number of Americans who struggle with hunger today. But equally striking is the number of meals YOU can provide with even a small donation: 3 for every dollar.

The San Diego Food Bank’s website is a great resource to find out how you can contribute to the fight against hunger in our community. Also, be sure to check out the Artists Against Hunger poster sale on Thumbtack press. All proceeds benefit the San Diego Food Bank.

And in case you haven’t heard what we’ve been up to, Artists Against Hunger is a collaborative effort between the design and arts communities to raise money for the San Diego Food Bank. If you are a fan of twitter, like we are (@parkerwhite) then you may have noticed that the popular online service was having some major issues this morning.  It was later revealed that this was the result of a DDoS attack.

Oddly enough our web host was also hit by a DDoS atack this morning which was causing some loading issues on our website.  Fortunately this was quickly resolved.  Once it was resolved, I was asked what happened, and when I explained that our server had been hit with a DDoS attack, it was received with blank looks.

A Distribute Denial of Service attack I explained.  Still nothing.  How do I best explain what this is?
