This September is Hunger Action Month, a nationwide movement aimed at encouraging local action to end hunger.

1 in 8. That’s the number of Americans who struggle with hunger today. But equally striking is the number of meals YOU can provide with even a small donation: 3 for every dollar.

The San Diego Food Bank’s website is a great resource to find out how you can contribute to the fight against hunger in our community. Also, be sure to check out the Artists Against Hunger poster sale on Thumbtack press. All proceeds benefit the San Diego Food Bank.

Artists Against Hunger Posters On Sale Today

The Artists Against Hunger poster submissions are finally available for purchase at Thumbtack Press. These 12″ x 18″, limited edition posters are printed with archival inks on a heavy, bright white stock and are perfect for your art collection, or as a gift. Thumbtack Press will even frame them for you (for a fee of course). The sale will continue until we reach our goal of $10,000 to help feed the hungry.

And in case you haven’t heard what we’ve been up to, Artists Against Hunger is a collaborative effort between the design and arts communities to raise money for the San Diego Food Bank. These talented artists have donated their time and passion to this important cause. Please help us support the San Diego Food Bank by purchasing a poster or two.

What is DDoS?

If you are a fan of twitter, like we are (@parkerwhite) then you may have noticed that the popular online service was having some major issues this morning. It was later revealed that this was the result of a DDoS attack.

Oddly enough our web host was also hit by a DDoS atack this morning which was causing some loading issues on our website. Fortunately this was quickly resolved. Once it was resolved, I was asked what happened, and when I explained that our server had been hit with a DDoS attack, it was received with blank looks.

A Distribute Denial of Service attack I explained. Still nothing. How do I best explain what this is?

The day we have all been waiting for is finally here! The launch of our new site is symbolic of our evolution as a digital agency. Our integrated CMS will allow us to keep you current on our work and clients. Adopters of the Designers Accord commit to five guidelines that provide collective and individual ways to take action. Becoming a member of the Designers Accord provides access to a community of peers that shares methodologies, resources, and experiences around environmental and social issues in design.
